There is junior high basketball on the local Wednesday schedule as district tournaments continues.
Two area boys’ teams will square off in the opening round of the 2A-3 Junior District Tournament at Buffalo Island Central High School in Monette. Salem and Melbourne are set to tip off at 5:45.
The first round of the 3A-1 East Junior District Tournament will come to an end at Rose Bud. In boys’ action, Marshall and Bergman tip off at 5 p.m., and Valley Springs takes on Clinton at 7:30. Valley Springs’ girls will play the host Junior Lady Ramblers at 6:15.
Both of Jasper’s teams will be paired with the Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy to open the 1A-1 Junior Distict Tournament at Kingston. The girls’ game begins at 4:00 followed by the boys’ contest.
