Frontiers Music srlLast May, Whitesnake‘s David Coverdale told ABC Radio that the band had to delay plans to release a new studio album in 2018 because “a technical catastrophe” resulted in the loss of most of the record. Now comes word that the album, titled Flesh & Blood, is ready to go and will hit stores on May 10.
Coinciding with the announcement, Whitesnake has premiered a video for the album’s lead single, “Shut Up & Kiss Me,” which you can watch on the Frontiers Music label’s YouTube channel.
The clip features footage of Whitesnake performing the new tune at a club in front of a small, enthusiastic crowd, intercut with fun scenes showing of group of woman who take a liking to the vintage white Jaguar that Coverdale has parked outside the venue. The car is the same one that appears in the iconic video for the band’s 1987 hit “Here I Go Again.”
“Shut Up & Kiss Me” can be purchased now digitally and via streaming services, and fans pre-ordering Flesh & Blood will receive an instant download of the track.
The album will be available in various formats and configurations, including on CD, digitally, as a two-LP set featuring black or colored vinyl discs, as a CD/DVD deluxe edition and as a “Super Luxury Boxset” containing the deluxe CD/DVD, the LPs on colored vinyl, a poster and a lithograph.
The CD/DVD set features two bonus studio tracks, two versions of the “Shut Up & Kiss Me” video, a Flesh & Blood behind-the-scenes clip and three DVD-audio remixes of album cuts.
To support Flesh & Blood, Whitesnake has scheduled a U.S. spring tour that kicks off April 12 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
