
The Norfork School District’s millage proposal was approved on Tuesday. District residents voted in favor of a three-mill increase in a special election to address the school’s budget shortfall.
According to Baxter County and Circuit Clerk Canda Reese, 324 voters (61 percent) said yes to the proposal. The vote count against the measure was 208 (39 percent).
The millage rate will be increased from 34.39 to 37.39. The state average is 38.33 mills.
