Lauren DukoffMelissa Etheridge is craving company on her new track, “Wild and Lonely.”
The singer released the song and its music video on Tuesday; it’s the second track from her upcoming album The Medicine Show.
The song, Melissa explains, is channeling feelings from her past.
“[T]hat was like Old School Melissa,” she says in a statement. “It’s fun for me to play with ‘me’ now, for 57-year-old Melissa to play with the angst. The whole song is about being on the road, being hungry, wanting.”
She adds that the song is the perfect example of the sound she wanted for the new album, which comes out April 12.
The video for “Wild and Lonely” uses live performance footage from Melissa’s recent U.K. dates. Her U.S. tour kicks off March 29.
“Wild and Lonely” follows “Faded by Design,” the first track released from The Medicine Show.
