A tip from authorities in Kansas led to the arrest of three Baxter County residents on multiple drug charges. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 48-year-old Dale Lau and 31-year-old Brittany Ealey of Lakeview posted bond late Friday night, and 33-year-old Jonathan Courtney of Mountain Home remains in the Baxter County Detention Center.
The Kansas Highway Patrol informed authorities in Arkansas of a large shipment of marijuana being delivered to a residence on Hickory Shadow Lane near Lakeview. The delivery was being monitored by investigators who entered the residence and executed a search warrant Friday evening when it allegedly arrived.
Investigators encountered three individuals identified as Lau, Ealey and Courtney and reportedly located 26 pounds of marijuana, multiple articles of drug paraphernalia, seven firearms and nearly $15,150 in cash. Ealey also allegedly had a small quantity of methamphetamine on her person.
Lau, Ealey and Courtney were all booked on felony counts of possession of a schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose of delivery, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Ealey also faces a felony count of possession of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $50,000 for each suspect.
In addition to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the 14th and 16th Judicial District Drug Task Forces.
