A Marion County man, 34-year-old Robert Warren of Summit, has been sentenced to one year of probation in connection with an incident last year when he was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault on a family or household member after he pointed a shotgun at two people.

Warren entered a guilty plea to a reduced misdemeanor charge of third-degree domestic battery in Marion County Circuit Court April 17th.

According to the probable cause affidavit, authorities were alerted to a domestic dispute early on the morning of July 31st at a residence along South Oak Street in Summit.

One of the two who had the weapon pointed at him told a Marion County deputy his mother’s boyfriend, later identified as Warren, had fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.
