Area high school graduations continue this week with 35 seniors at Izard County High School set to receive their diplomas Tuesday evening at 7. Ceremonies will be held in the Izard County High School Gymnasium.
Izard County High School’s valedictorian for the class of 2019 is Maura Thomason, and the salutatorian is Bethany Simmons.
Simmons and Thomason met the governor and first lady at the Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day last month. The event was held at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock to honor the academic achievement of Arkansas’ most outstanding high school seniors.
