A Mountain Home man pled guilty to forgery and theft of property charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.Twenty-year-old Luke Tidwell was given four years probation and will spend a year at one of the Community Correction Centers in the state to undergo addiction treatment.

On March 12, the Mountain Home Police Department received a report of four stolen checks being forged and cashed at a local bank. According to the probable cause affidavit, the checks were made out to Tidwell. Video footage from the bank’s surveillance system showed a man — eventually identified as Tidwell — cashing the stolen checks on March 11 and 12.

Tidwell was ordered to pay $610 in restitution.

He made a fairly rapid trip through the court system. Tidwell was arrested April 1 and entered his plea about a month later.
