The Gainesville R-V School District's new construction project has been put on hold. According to the Ozark County Times, the construction of the preschool building is being delayed pending paperwork filing required by the Federal Aviation Administration due to its proximity to the Gainesville Memorial Airport.
The preschool's planned location is on Bulldog Drive near the end of the airport's runway. The Missouri Pilots Association has questioned the location of the preschool, and talks have begun between school officials and the airport's owner, the city of Gainesville. The discussions are expected to continue during Tuesday's meeting of the Gainesville Board of Aldermen.
