Gassville City Council passes smoking ban

The Gassville City Council, with three members absent, passed a smoking ban during its regular May meeting Tuesday night. The ordinance bans smoking on all city-owned properties.

Mayor Jeff Braim says the council also approved an ordinance changing the sewer rates for city residents.

The Gassville City Council also approved automatic aid agreements for the Gassville Fire Department with the Cotter and Gassville/Cotter Rural Fire Departments.

They also were told insurance rates for city employees are increasing $40 per month for each employee.
