The Cotter City Council will move through a fairly busy agenda during its May session Thursday evening at 6.

The agenda is highlighted by a possible partnership with the Arkansas Department of Transportation. The council will consider a resolution for accepting ownership of U.S. Highway 62B and Arkansas Highway 345 inside the city limits in exchange for payment preservation and culvert improvements to the highways.

In other matters of new business, the council will consider an ordinance to replace the Cotter Police Department’s policy and procedure manual and have an agreement for fire department auto aid between the city and the Cotter/Gassville Rural Volunteer Fire Department and an agreement for auto aid between the cities of Cotter and Gassville read into the minutes. The council will also hear from Wesley United Methodist Church Pastor Jimmie Snow on the church’s Hot Dogs in the Park event. The lone item of unfinished business is the second reading of an ordinance amending the service rates furnished by the sewer system.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers of Cotter City Hall.
