The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Center, will host a workshop Thursday to help area businesses increase their online presence through Google. The event will be held from 10 until noon at The Sheid on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.
The workshop is designed to show how customers find a business online and how to better promote an online presence. Participants will learn how to create a free Google My Business profile to help improve a website’s visibility in Google’s organic search results.
The cost of the workshop is $10. Registration is required prior to the event and can be done by clicking here.
In January, as part of the Baxter County Forward Initiative, a survey found although some 400 businesses in the Twin Lakes Area are listed as paying taxes by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, only 33 had a Google business listing. Google is considered one of the top search engines, especially for the growing millennial population.
