U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) spoke on the Senate floor Wednesday in support of improvements to the Department of Veterans Affairs community care programs as the VA begins implementation.

On the one-year anniversary of the signing of the VA MISSION Act into law, the VA rolled out the signature program offering veterans more options to better support their needs, no matter where they live.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reported the new community care program implements portions of the VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks Act of 2018 or MISSION Act.

The roll out of the new community care program follows protests by local veterans earlier this year over the lack of availability when it comes to local healthcare options for veterans in the Twin Lakes Area.

Senator Boozman delivered his remarks to highlight the importance of the reforms to VA’s healthcare delivery.
