The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, has postponed its planned spillway release from the Norfork Dam that was scheduled to start Monday.

The corp officials say due to the heavy rainfall over the weekend across the downstream drainage area, the spillway release has been postponed until downstream channel capacity improves. No timetable was given on how long that could take.

The planned release is part of the corps’ ongoing effort to evacuate water captured in Lake Norfork during heavy spring rains.
