Programs featuring two music legends, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen, have nabbed multiple nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards, which will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 22, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

The CBS special Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live from Liverpool, which featured the former Beatles legend and Late Late Show host James Corden visiting Sir Paul’s hometown, is nominated for five honors, including a nod in the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) category.

The show also received nominations for directing, writing, sound mixing and picture editing of a variety program.

The Boss’ Netflix concert special Springsteen on Broadway, which captured Bruce performing his popular Broadway stage show of the same name, received two nominations. Like McCartney’s Carpool Karaoke special, the program scored nods for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special.

Meanwhile, CBS’ Aretha Franklin tribute special Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen Of Soul also nabbed a pair of nominations, for Outstanding Music Direction and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special.

The show receiving the highest number of Emmy nominations overall was HBO’s Game of Thrones, which scored a record 32, the most for any program in a single season.
