Pocahontas man arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run

A Randolph County man is in the Baxter County Detention Center on suspicion of an alleged hit-and-run. According to the Mountain Home Police Department, 40-year-old Justin Bounds of Pocahontas was found less than an hour after the accident occurred.

Authorities responded around 11:30 Monday evening to the scene near the intersection of U.S. Highway 62B and Cardinal Drive. An officer later found the vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run. The driver, identified as Bounds, was reportedly found to be intoxicated.

Bounds faces charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), careless driving and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. His bond is set at $1,285.
