A Marion County man, 30-year-old Coleman McNeely Jr. of Yellville, has been arrested and charged with both felony and misdemeanor counts of domestic battery following an incident in which he allegedly sprayed wasp exterminator in his father’s eyes.

He has also been charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Marion County deputy sheriff responded to a physical domestic incident on the evening of July 29 along Hazelnut Lane in Yellville.

The deputy was met by man who said his wife’s brother, later identified as McNeely, “snapped on his father” and sprayed wasp exterminator in his eyes.

The man said his wife’s 17-year-old son attempted to break up the altercation, with McNeely allegedly grabbing the teen, throwing him to the ground and getting on top of him.

McNeely’s sister confirmed the account, adding her brother had flipped a table on their father.

The father told the deputy he was in bed when his son came inside and told him there were some noodles to eat, they got into it and the suspect sprayed him in the face. The victim declined medical attention, as he was wiping his eyes with a towel, explaining his daughter had already taken care of him.

The deputy noted the teen had scratches on his right collar bone, left side of his neck and inside of his right bicep, along with redness on the back of his neck.

While McNeely reportedly told the deputy he and his father “had just gotten into it,” he declined to provide further details.

He was arrested  with bond set at $20,000.
