A Mountain Home man, 43-year-old Jeremy Jessup, has been arrested and charged, after he allegedly broke into his mother’s home.

According to information from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to the home of Jessup’s mother along Berrywood Lane in Gassville Tuesday evening for a trespassing complaint.

The deputy found a distraught victim who was barely able to speak but managed to say her son, later identified as Jessup, has broken into her home.

The woman said she had left in the morning, locking all the doors. When she returned, she discovered Jessup inside, yelling at her and calling her a bad mother. She told the deputy she was so scared of him she thought he was going to kill her.

While leaving the residence, Jessup allegedly kicked the woman’s car, resulting in about $1,500 in damages. Also while leaving, Jessup is alleged to have removed the battery from the home phone, preventing the victim from calling 911.

The report indicates Jessup has allegedly been advised the previous evening by law enforcement to leave his mother’s property, and if he returned, he would be criminal trespassing.

He was arrested Tuesday evening on U.S. Highway 62 West, a mile from the Gassville residence.

Jessup has been charged with residential burglary, felony criminal mischief, misdemeanor criminal mischief, assault on a family household and interference with emergency communications. Online jail records indicate his bond was set at $25,000.
