Izard County woman charged with maintaining drug premises near church

An Izard County woman has been arrested and charged with six felony drug offenses, including maintaining a drug premises near a church.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers with the Izard County Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of 57-year-old Katie Havens Aug. 1. Haven’s address was not provided in online court documents.

During the course of the search, officers allegedly located a crystalline substance field testing positive for methamphetamine, along with a list of 15 items of drug paraphernalia, two cellphones and $192 in currency.

Havens’ charges also include two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, methamphetamine and a Schedule I or II drug; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of controlled substances near certain facility, an unclassified felony enhancement of 10 years. Her residence is located within 1,000 feet of a church.

No bond for Havens was listed on the online court documents.
