With the turning of the calendar page to September, it means the Baxter County Fair will soon be underway.
Fair week kicks off Saturday evening with the fair pageant at 6 at Dunbar Auditorium on the campus of Mountain Home High School and the truck pull at 7 at the Saddle Club Arena at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.
With the fair pageant just days away, the deadline to enter is Wednesday, and all registrations must be made online.
All contestants must be residents of Baxter County and must register by the child’s legal name. Contestants must not be, or have been, married or have children. There is no entry fee. Admission to Dunbar Auditorium is $5 for adults and students, with children 5 and under free.
There are divisions for all ages, for girls ages 3 to 23 and for boys ages 3 to 5.
Reigning winners may not compete in the same category the following year. They may compete, however, if they are eligible to move up a category due to grade/age.
The Baxter County Fair Pageant is conducted by the Baxter County Fair Association. Those interested in participating are asked to print and read rules and regulations provided online, as changes have been made. Registrations may be made 24 hours a day.
