One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash in Gainesville Monday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the person killed as 75-year-old Lonnie E. Crisp of Caulfield, who was pronounced dead at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Seventy-three-year-old Larane D. Wright of Zanoni was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The report indicates a vehicle driven by Wright, with Crisp as a passenger, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Third Street and State Highway 5 and was struck by a tractor trailer truck. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. Neither Wright nor Crisp were wearing seat belts.
The accident happened at 4:11 Monday afternoon.
