A man has been arrested for allegedly hitting his mother in Fulton County. Forty-two-year-old Jeremy Niederbrach faces a felony count of second-degree domestic battery and a misdemeanor count of third-degree domestic battery.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Fulton County 911 dispatch received a call last Thursday night from a witness saying Niederbrach hit his mother, and she was hurt. When authorities arrived, another witness outside the residence said Niederbrach had been fighting with everyone inside, and he had a knife. Officers made contact with the woman identified as Niederbrach’s mother, and she reportedly had a large hematoma on her left eye and was bleeding from her nose. She accused her son of hitting her, and he was located in the back of the residence and placed into custody.

Four other occupants of the residence said Niederbrach and a female were arguing. Niederbrach’s mother went to check on them, and he reportedly became angry and started yelling. He allegedly stabbed a knife through his bedroom door toward his mother and son on the other side. Niederbrach reportedly knocked the door off its hinges, came out of the room swinging his fists and struck his mother. The female he was arguing with ran out of the residence and called 911, and two other males attempted to subdue Niederbrach and calm him down.

Niederbrach was transported to the Fulton County jail, and his mother went to the hospital to be checked out. Pictures were taken of her injuries at the hospital, and in addition to the hematoma and the bloody nose, she also had a skin tear on her right wrist and a swollen right ankle.

Niederbrach’s bond was set at $20,000, and he was also charged as a habitual offender. According to the National Crime Information Center database, he has been convicted of at least four felonies.
