Tuesday hoops results include mixed results for MHCA

In high school basketball Tuesday night, the Bad Boy Mowers Classic continued at Izard County High School, and it ended with mixed results for the Mountain Home Christian Academy teams.

In boys’ action, Mountain Home Christian Academy defeated Maynard 50-47, Mammoth Spring lost to Mount Vernon-Enola 67-56, and Bradford defeated Sloan-Hendrix 63-44. In the Mammoth Spring game, Alex Mero paced the Bears with 20 points, Zack Flynn scored 17 and Clint Lester had 10 points.

In girls’ games, Mountain Home Christian Academy lost to Maynard 58-15, Mammoth Spring fell to Mount Vernon-Enola 45-42, and Sloan-Hendrix downed Bradford 60-46. In the Mammoth Spring game, Terra Godwin scored 13 points for the Lady Bears.

In other boys’ games Tuesday:
-Flippin downed Lead Hill 70-45
-Viola got past Rural Special 69-56
-Valley Springs blew out Eureka Springs 60-28
-Jasper lost to Shirley 60-40

In girls’ action:
-Viola cruised past Rural Special 71-41
-Bruno-Pyatt fell to St. Paul 51-43
-Valley Springs was a 50-39 winner over Eureka Springs
-Lead Hill downed Shirley 52-44
