The Social Security Administration is expanding its Mountain Home office hours beginning next week. The office, located on Wallace Knob Road, will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 until 4 and Wednesday from 9 until noon.
Most Social Security services do not require an office visit. Personalized online service accounts can be created at socialsecurity.gov/myaccount. Through a “my Social Security” account, users can check personal information and conduct business with the Social Security Administration. Those already receiving Social Security benefits can start or change direct deposit online, and if proof of benefits is needed, a benefit verification letter can be downloaded from their account.
Anyone not yet receiving benefits can use an online account to get a personalized Social Security statement for earnings information and estimates of future benefits. Arkansas residents can request a replacement Social Security card online if they meet certain requirements. The portal also includes links to information about other online services including applications for retirement, disability and Medicare benefits.
Many Social Security services are also available by calling toll-free 1-800-772-1213, and TTY is available for the deaf or the hard-of-hearing at 1-800-325-0778.
