A 43-year-old Gassville man who was stopped twice in May by Mountain Home Police officers for traffic violations and wound up with drug charges entered a guilty plea to those charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
Michael Leach was sentenced to six years in prison with four suspended and two to serve.
He was first pulled over in mid-May on North College Street. When Leach got out of his vehicle, a folded dollar bill was reported to have fallen to the ground. When the arresting officer opened the bill, he found a white crystal-like substance. The MHPD drug dog was brought to the scene and alerted on the dollar bill.
The substance in the bill field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Leach was stopped again in late-May for running two stop signs. A search of Leach’s vehicle turned up a small plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, in the ash tray.
