
The Norfork High School basketball teams were able to sweep Bruno-Pyatt on their home floor Friday evening. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Patriots 51-37. Norfork’s boys followed with a 67-34 victory over Bruno-Pyatt.
Flippin suffered a pair of high school basketball losses at Bergman. The Lady Bobcats fell to the Lady Panthers 61-33. Flippin’s boys also lost to Bergman 76-55.
Both of Viola’s high school teams won their games at home over Lead Hill. The Lady Longhorns topped the Lady Tigers 55-25. The Viola boys later beat Lead Hill 67-42.
Mammoth Spring won its high school games over Sloan-Hendrix Friday in Imboden. The Lady Bears were able to get the 55-43 win over the Lady Greyhounds. Lauren Mitchell led Mammoth Spring with 21 points, and Megyn Upton added 11. Mammoth Spring’s boys wrapped up the night by defeating Sloan-Hendrix 48-37. The Bears were led by Zack Flynn with 20 points, and Alex Mero chipped in 17. Mammoth Spring will host Izard County on Tuesday.
Calico Rock’s high school teams were swept at home by Rural Special. The Lady Pirates fell to the Lady Rebels 53-38. The Calico Rock boys later lost to Rural Special 54-46.
Izard County ended up on the positive end of a three-game sweep as they hosted Omaha on Friday. The defending Class 1A state champion Cougars won the boys’ game 64-34 over the Eagles. Coby Everett was Izard County’s top scorer with 21 points, Justus Cooper had 14, and Caleb Faulkner finished with 11. Izard County’s senior girls were able to edge out Omaha 46-43. Allison Newman paced the Lady Cougars with 14 points. The Izard County junior girls began the evening with a 38-15 victory over Omaha. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Ava Lewis and Quinn Johnson with 16 points each.
St. Joe’s boys were able to pick up a win on the road. The Wildcats went to Tontitown and topped Ozark Catholic 53-46.
The Timbo girls had a rough road trip Friday. The Lady Tigers lost to South Side-Bee Branch 55-17.
Valley Springs was able to get a pair of high school wins at Alpena. The Lady Tigers got past the Lady Leopards 58-54. Valley Springs’ boys later beat up on Alpena 69-38.
The Western Grove boys grabbed another victory on their home court. The Warriors beat Jasper by a final of 72-26.
