A Mountain Home man is accused of attempting to enter vehicles parked at Baxter Regional Medical Center and threatening two officers. Thirty-year-old Robert Weaver is in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $3,205.

According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel, a hospital security officer approached a male subject early Sunday morning and asked him to leave. The male had reportedly been acting strange and making others feel uncomfortable, and he allegedly kicked a door inside the hospital. The officer later located the male at the parking lot near the emergency room and asked him to leave again. The male reportedly cursed at the officer and started walking in the middle of the road near the hospital. As Mountain Home officers were responding, the male allegedly threatened to kill the security officer and made several gestures toward him. The subject, later identified as Weaver, then reportedly ran away.

A Mountain Home officer later located Weaver near the hospital on Arkansas Highway 5 North. The officer attempted to make conversation, but Weaver allegedly said, “Address yourself or I will (expletive) shoot you.” The officer identified himself, and Weaver then reportedly said not to get any closer or he would kill the officer. As Weaver was walking away, the officer continued to follow him and was again met with alleged repeated threats. Weaver was reportedly reaching behind his back near his waist, and he then fled on foot being chased by the officer.

During the chase, Weaver reportedly reached behind him and came back around to his front, pointing a cellphone in his hand at the officer. The officer realized it was not a firearm, and Weaver was caught a short distance later. Two additional officers arrived to assist with the arrest and were met with resistance from Weaver.

It was later discovered Weaver had driven a vehicle parked in the lot. The vehicle was rented by an acquaintance who did not give Weaver permission to drive it. The acquaintance was a hospital patient.

Weaver is charged with disorderly conduct, fleeing, public intoxication, resisting arrest, two counts of terroristic threatening, two counts of threatening physical injury, driving while license is suspended, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.
