Ava to play state semifinal game at home

The Ava High School football team will return to the home field Saturday with a trip to the state championship game on the line. The Bears will host Clark County in the semifinals of Missouri’s Class 2 State Playoffs.

Ava is unbeaten in 13 games on the year. The Bears grabbed a 12-point victory last weekend in their quarterfinal game at Lamar. Clark County has a mark of 12-1. The Indians defeated Hallsville a week ago by 15.

Kickoff at Silvey Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
