A complaint of domestic assault has led to the arrest of a Gassville man and two other individuals accused of assisting him in evading apprehension. Thirty-two-year-old Philip Webber was booked in the Baxter County Detention Center Sunday night and joined by his wife, 29-year-old Katie Webber, and 46-year-old Leonard Lee, all of Gassville. All three have been released on bond.

According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a rural Mountain Home woman reported her son, identified as Philip Webber, came to her residence on Hammack Lane Sunday to bring her a treadmill. He was reportedly “jerking it around,” and she claims after she said something to him, he cursed at her. The victim claims to have thrown a soda on her son, and he allegedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground in response. She had red marks on her arms and back where Philip Webber allegedly grabbed her. The responding deputy searched unsuccessfully for the suspect.

Later Sunday night, a Gassville officer made contact with Philip Webber at a residence on Lincoln Street. When the officer said he would be arrested for domestic battery, Philip Webber fled into the residence.

A Baxter County deputy arrived, and both officers observed Philip Webber in the residence with two other adults, identified as Katie Webber and Lee, and a juvenile. The officers advised the occupants to open the door, and Philip Webber reportedly cursed at them, refusing to come out. He and his wife allegedly barricaded the front and back doors. Lee was reportedly sitting on a couch refusing to open the door, and he made an alleged obscene gesture at the deputy.

The officers’ attempts to gain entry were unsuccessful, but Philip Webber came out a short time later and was taken into custody. Katie Webber was also placed under arrest. Another Gassville officer arrived and stayed with two juveniles, ages 10 and 2, and Lee was then taken into custody.

Philip Webber was charged with third-degree domestic battery, third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, two counts of resisting arrest and fleeing. He posted a bond of $2,220.

Katie Webber and Lee were each charged with two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and obstructing governmental operations. They were released on a bond of $1,290.

The juveniles were placed in the custody of the Department of Human Services.
