In Wednesday’s basketball action, the Battle of the Border Tournament began its second round at Mammoth Spring.
Bakersfield’s boys were sent to the third place game of the tournament. The Lions fell to Hillcrest by a score of 62-40.
In the other boys’ game, Calico Rock advanced to play for the consolation title. The Pirates beat up on Koshkonong 63-35.
The Bakersfield girls were eliminated from the tournament. The Lady Lions fell to Koshkonong in the consolation semifinals.
Gainesville was also bounced from the girls’ bracket. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Calico Rock 51-38. The Lady Pirates will face Koshkonong Saturday for the consolation championship.
Mountain View’s boys were eliminated from the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College Tournament at Batesville. The Yellowjackets fell to Batesville 64-55.
The Bergman boys won their opener in the Arvest Bank Duel at the Dome at West Fork. The Panthers defeated Greenland by a final of 64-47.
