Trigger Productions Inc.Foreigner‘s last studio album of original material, Can’t Slow Down, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. To mark the milestone, the band has just re-released one of the record’s standout songs, “In Pieces,” as a digital download and via streaming services.
“In Pieces” was co-written by founding Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones with the band’s current frontman, Kelly Hansen, and Can’t Slow Down‘s co-producer, veteran songwriter Marti Frederiksen. The song, a soaring, modern-sounding ballad about a broken romance, reached #21 on Billboard‘s Adult Contemporary chart in 2010.
Can’t Slow Down peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200. It is the only studio effort Foreigner has released since original singer Lou Gramm‘s final album with the band, 1994’s Mr. Moonlight.
Foreigner is gearing up for a busy 2020 tour schedule that includes a January 16-18 engagement in Nashville that will feature the band performing with the Nashville Symphony; Las Vegas residency dates in late January, early February and April; and a variety of other North American concerts in February, March and April.
The veteran rockers also will mount a U.K. tour with Whitesnake and Europe that runs from a May 31 concert in London through a June 8 show in Manchester. Foreigner then will head to mainland Europe for a series of festivals and headlining performances later in June.
