The filing period for candidates for the Missouri municipal elections slated for April 7 opened Tuesday, according to a report from the Ozark County Times.The municipal election covers openings on school, city and public boards. Candidates may file at the appropriate organization’s office. However, schools and offices will be closed during the holidays. Candidates are advised to call the school or municipal office where they plan to file to verify holiday closure dates.The filing period closes on Jan. 21. The deadline to register to vote in the election is March 20.
