Creative Direction: Aubrey Powell, Hipgnosis; Design: Peter Curzon, StormStudiosIn celebration of the recent release of the new archival Pink Floyd box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years, a new Augmented Reality app has been introduced that brings to life elements from some of the band’s late-era album covers.

You can access the app via your cellphone or mobile device by visiting PFlateryears.com. Using your phone or device’s camera, you’ll be able to see three-dimensional depictions of images that are featured in the cover art of 1987’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 1994’s The Division Bell and the 1995’s live album Pulse appearing in the room with you.

The app also lets you maneuver each image, which is accompanied by a song from its corresponding album.

The Later Years features five CDs, six Blu-rays and five DVDs, and includes remixed versions of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell, and the 1988 live album Delicate Sound of Thunder, as well as over 13 hours of unreleased audio and video. The latter material includes a previously unreleased 1989 concert in Venice, Italy, and a 1990 show in Knebworth, U.K.

The box set also features a restored and reedited version of the Pulse concert film; surround mixes of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell; unreleased 1994 studio recordings that served as the basis for Pink Floyd’s 2015 studio album The Endless River; and a full-length film about the making of the latter record.

In addition, the collection includes the first-ever release — on Blu-ray, DVD and 7-inch vinyl — of Floyd members David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason‘s final performance together: a rendition of “Arnold Layne” from a 2007 Syd Barrett tribute concert in London.
