
Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School teams will have their final non-conference games of the regular season. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will wrap up their current home stand, as they meet Russellville.
Mountain Home’s girls come into the game ranked fourth in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Bombers are 10-2 on the season after beating Rogers a week-and-a-half ago to win the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament. Russellville has a record of 5-5. The Lady Cyclones were beat up by Pulaski Academy last Monday in the championship game of the Hoops 4 Hunger Cyclone Classic.
The Mountain Home boys bring a mark of 8-4 into the game. The Bombers also won the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament on Dec. 28 with a victory over Farmington in the championship game. Russellville is ranked second in Class 5A and eighth overall by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Cyclones finished third in their tournament last week by beating Van Buren.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 p.m. at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests will begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy will send two boys’ teams to West Plains to face Ozarks Christian Academy, Cotter hosts Flippin, Norfork entertains Omaha, Yellville-Summit travels to Deer, Bruno-Pyatt is home against Lead Hill, Bakersfield makes the trip to Eminence, Gainesville’s boys host Thayer, Lutie entertains Couch, the Dora girls head to Chadwick, Dora’s boys travel to Alton, Salem makes the trip to Rector, Mammoth Spring is home against Hillcrest, Izard County hosts Sloan-Hendrix, Melbourne heads to Marmaduke, Timbo entertains Greers Ferry West Side, Mountain View is home against Valley Springs, Rural Special travels to Mount Vernon-Enola, Bergman hosts Clinton, and Jasper entertains Mount Judea. Western Grove’s games against Kingston have been cancelled.
On the junior high level, Marshall is home against Hector.
