COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – Boone County prosecutors are objecting to a change of venue request for the child abuse trial of a man whose Chinese wife has been missing for months. In a court filing Wednesday, Boone County Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Knight argues attorneys for Joseph Elledge didn’t file their motion for a venue change within a 10-day deadline set by the Missouri Supreme Court. Elledge pleaded not guilty to child endangerment and child abuse charges. Authorities have said he is a suspect in the disappearance of his wife, who he reported missing Oct. 9. He has not been charged in her disappearance.
