High school basketball is included on the local Thursday schedule, as district tournament play continues in Arkansas.
Three local teams will compete in the semifinals of the 2A-3 District Tournament at Salem. The host Lady Greyhounds face Melbourne at 7:30, and Melbourne’s boys take on Rector at 9. Both Bearkatz teams are the No. 1 seeds in the tournament.
The Rural Special girls will take part in the semifinals of the 1A-5 District Tournament at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton. The Lady Rebels will play top-seeded Concord at 4:30.
After having a bye through the first three rounds, Harrison’s girls will have their first game in the 4A-1 District Tournament at Prairie Grove. The Lady Goblins will be paired with Gravette at 7 p.m. in the semifinals.
Elsewhere, Bakersfield hosts Koshkonong, the Gainesville girls travel to Conway, and Lutie’s boys and the Dora girls make the trip to Norwood.
