MH boys finish 8th in Class 5A at state wrestling tourney

The wrestling season came to an end Saturday with the final day of the Arkansas State High School Boys’ Wrestling Tournament held at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Mountain Home ended up in eighth place in Class 5A. Greenwood passed Searcy in the team standings to win the state title.

The Bombers had two individual third-place finishes from Drue Yonkers in the 113-pound division and Aiden Richey in the 220 weight category. In addition, Brandon Wheat ended up fourth in the 170.

Another area school took part in the tournament, as Mountain View was 12th in Classes 4A/3A/2A/1A. Pulaski Academy was crowned state champion. The Yellowjackets’ top individual performance was from Rocko Woods, as he took fourth place in the 120-pound division.
