The Cotter City Council will consider action on three resolutions when it meets in regular session Thursday evening at 6.Topping the list is a resolution supporting Arkansas House Joint Resolution 1018 of 2019. If approved, the non-binding resolution would show the council’s support to continue a levy of a one-half percent sales and use tax for the state’s highway system, county road and city streets. Registered voters will consider continuing the sales and use tax through a constitutional amendment in the November general election.
The other two resolutions would allow the city to apply for a USDA grant for an emergency storm siren and an Arkansas Rural Community grant on behalf of the Cotter Fire Department for Jaws of Life equipment.
The meeting will be held in the council chambers of Cotter City Hall.
