The U.S. Forest Service is continuing prescribed burns in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests. National forest fire managers will conduct three local burns in Baxter and Searcy counties on Saturday.
One of the newest burns will be in the vicinity of Fifty-Six. Nearly 600 acres will be burned in the Sylamore and St. Francis ranger districts.
Two burns will be held in Searcy County for the Big Piney Ranger District. Over 3,700 acres will be burned near Witts Springs, with an additional 1,800 acres in the vicinity of Mount Judea.
