MH tops Lonoke for 1st win of baseball season

The Mountain Home High School baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Friday, as action continued in the Prep Baseball Report Opening Week Tournament. The Bombers went to Lonoke and shut out the Jackrabbits 1-0 in a pitchers duel.

Tyler Smith picked up the victory, as he pitched four relief innings, struck out four batters and gave up one base hit. Josh Prinner led the Mountain Home offense with two hits in three at-bats.

The Bombers improve to 1-2 on the season, and they will continue action at Lonoke on Saturday, as they meet South Side-Bee Branch at 11 a.m. Mountain Home had another game scheduled for 9 a.m., but McGehee ended up forfeiting.

Mountain Home will have two other baseball teams on the road taking on Greenwood. The high school junior varsity game begins at 1:30 followed by the freshmen contest.
