Local grocer says no need to panic about food availability

While national news reports indicate some grocery stores across the country have had shelves cleared by shoppers stocking up during the COVID-19 pandemic, a local grocery store manager says they are not experiencing any problems in obtaining food. Tracie Barkley is the manager of Town & Country Discount Foods in Mountain Home, and  says there is no reason for shoppers locally to panic.

Barkley says her store has set limits on some items to ensure everyone can get what they need. Those limits are posted in the store.

The Town & Country manager says they have seen a big increase in business, since the pandemic was declared.

Some stores in the country are opening early for seniors only, so they are able to shop without being subjected to large crowds. Barkley says it’s not something Town & Country is doing at this time.
