The Mountain Home City Council repealed the trio of ordinances Thursday night that called for a special election in May for a proposed Mountain Home Community Complex.
By unanimous votes, with all members present, the ordinances were rescinded due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the hard work put in by the city and citizens to raise awareness for the need of a community complex, Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams says the timing just isn’t right.

The mayor adds the idea of a community complex has not ended and said he feels when the timing is right, the project could provide economic aid to the city and residents of Baxter County.

The mayor reported to the council the Mountain Home Police Department had aided 15 senior residents of the city with delivery of either groceries or medicines this week after launching the initiative on Monday.

Adams says he feels the city is in good shape at this point of the pandemic.
