Hairdressers asking governor to re-open salons by April 27

While Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Friday he hopes to begin lifting on May 4 some of the state’s restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus outbreak, hairdressers from all over the state are petitioning for an earlier opening.Almost 20,000 signatures have been gathered on a petition to have a soft opening of hair salons and barbershops by April 27.

On March 23, Gov. Hutchinson ordered all salons and barbershops in the state to close until further notice.

Salon officials said they would take all safety precautions only allowing one person per professional at a time, while wearing gloves and masks.
