What looked to be a routine meeting of the Mountain Home School Board Thursday resulted in some huge news, with a former Arkansas Razorback and NFL quarterback hired as an assistant coach for the high school football team. Ryan Mallett will join new head coach Steve Ary’s staff and will also teach social studies. You can read more about and hear from the new Mountain Home assistant by clicking here.
In action items, the board voted to purchase 13 new desktop computers and monitors for the central office at a price of $12,420. Most of the current computers in the office are over 10 years old and are frequently having problems.
The board also approved the purchase of a zero-turn mower for the maintenance department at a cost of $12,600 to replace older mowers being used and needing to be replaced.
Also approved was $45,000 for painting done at the kindergarten and Pinkston Middle Schools, mainly on the exterior, by MC Painting.
