Restrooms, pavilions and playgrounds will be reopened by the Mountain Home Parks and Recreation Department on May 15, according to a release from the mayor’s office. Information regarding youth and team sports will be determined in mid to late May depending on Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s directive.
Garage sales will also make a comeback. The Building Inspection Office will begin issuing garage sale permits. People conducting garage sales are asked to moderate proper distancing. The Arkansas Department of Health’s directive will be provided upon receiving a permit.
City Hall’s Administration Offices, the Mountain Home Fire Department, the Mountain Home Water Department and the Mountain Home Park and Recreation Offices located inside the L.C. Sammons Youth Center remain open to the public.
The state of emergency declaration has been extended for 45 more days in Arkansas. During the extension, the Mountain Home Police Department will continue its grocery pickup for citizens over the age of 65 residing inside the city limits of Mountain Home.
The mayor’s office encourages Arkansans to social distance, wear masks, wash their hands often with soap or sanitizer and disinfect frequently used items and surfaces.
