The Fulton County Quorum Court is set to meet in a special session Friday morning at 8 to declare and fill a vacancy in the office of the county judge.

Earlier this month Fulton County Judge Jim Bicker announced his intentions to step down from the position this month.

Bicker was appointed county judge for the second time in seven years on Jan. 31, after former judge Jim Kendrick was convicted on a felony theft of property charge. Kendrick served just over one year in the position before his conviction and was declared ineligible to serve due to it.

Bicker’s reportedly cited personal reasons for stepping down.

Friday’s meeting will be held in the Miller-Hickinbotham Exhibit Building at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem.
