A man referring to himself as “your friendly wife exterminator” faces felony terroristic threatening charges after an investigation by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.Fifty-five-year-old Rowland Leroy Mitchell of rural Mountain Home was released on a $10,000 bond Tuesday morning, according to electronic jail records.

Authorities were contacted Monday by a woman who said she had received threatening messages and photos via text from Mitchell, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

The messages stated Mitchell told the woman “he was going to use a screw gun to fasten doors” to a residence so she could not escape, then “put different pesticides into the house” while she was in it, through the air conditioning system. Mitchell allegedly followed up with text messages, including pictures, depicting a screw gun, pesticide foggers and what appeared to be clothesline, the affidavit says.

Mitchell also allegedly threatened to set fire to the house, while the woman was trapped inside, and referred to himself as the “friendly wife exterminator.”

Authorities verified the texts came from Mitchell’s cellphone and arrested him late Monday night.
