A officer with the Mountain Home Police Department (MHPD) monitoring traffic Sunday night encountered a suspicious vehicle, setting off a chain of events culminating with the arrest of a Mountain Home man on felony charges in connection with an alleged beating. The man, 31-year-old Brian Kenneth Snow of Mountain Home, also reportedly forced his victim into a vehicle at knifepoint.According to the probable cause affidavit, Snow was arrested after hiding from authorities in the woods, near the intersection of College Street and Coley Drive. The incident leading to the arrest began when the officer saw a vehicle pull into the wooded area where he was parked, leading him to turn on the headlights of his patrol car to be seen and yelling for the driver to stop. The vehicle sped up and passed the officer in the ditch, continuing to a secluded dirt road. The officer drove to the backside of the property on Arkansas Drive, where he found an abandoned vehicle and could hear someone in the woods, but could not see the individual.
MHPD’s K9 officer was brought to the scene and initiated a track down the access road, back to Coley Drive.
While the search was ongoing, authorities received a 911 call reporting a bloodied male individual on Gentry St. The officer encountered a male, who told officers a man named Kenny Snow had assaulted him and forced him into a car at knifepoint.
Officers returned to search the wooded area, and the K-9 was back on the track when the suspect, later identified as Snow, surrendered. Officers noted a strong odor of intoxicants from the man when he was placed into custody. A certified breath test would indicate a blood alcohol content of .13.
Both the victim and Snow would be transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center. Snow was reportedly treated for possible injuries to his hand and foot, which officers note happened during the alleged beating.
While interviewing the victim, officers were told Snow allegedly showed up at his residence and started an altercation. The victim said he got Snow calmed down and was going to give him a ride to a residence on Coley Drive. When the pair arrived at the residence, a third man – identified as a neighbor – joined Snow in attacking him by hitting and kicking him in the face.
The victim also alleges Snow forced him into a vehicle at knifepoint and turned down the access road the officer was parked on seeking a secluded area to “kill him and dump the body.”
Snow was released into police custody and has been charged with aggravated assault, fleeing by a vehicle, DWI-second offense and driving on a suspended license. A warrant was also served on Snow during his booking. Snow remains jailed on $10,576 bond, according to electronic jail records.
