Another spillway release is scheduled for this weekend by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Table Rock Dam will have a total spillway flow of approximately 5,500 cubic feet per second beginning Saturday at noon. With hydropower releases, the total release from the dam will be nearly 17,500 cubic feet per second.

The Corps is advising those in areas downstream of the dam to begin assessing their respective plans and take proper precautions. Landowners with belongings near the river’s edge should also begin making plans for high water.

According to the Corps, releases will be made in response to on-the-ground impacts to best minimize flood damage due to the uncertainty in rainfall forecasts. The water management staff will be engaged and proactive in responding to the conditions.

More information can be found online at swl.usace.army.mil. The Corps’ Little Rock District can also be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
