1 killed, 3 children injured in Ozark County crash

One person was killed and three children were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ozark County Tuesday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the person killed in the crash as 29-year-old Boyd J. Hill of Isabella.

The injured include three juveniles: a 12-year-old female, a 7-year-old male and a 3-year-old male.

None of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The patrol says the accident happened when the 1984 Datsun pickup truck Hill was driving went off the right side of the roadway, and he overcorrected causing the vehicle to return to the roadway and overturn. Hill was partially ejected from the vehicle, while two passengers were ejected.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene. The 7-year-old was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield by air ambulance with serious injuries. The other two juveniles were taken by private vehicle to Cox South for treatment of minor injuries.

The accident happened at 1:49 Tuesday afternoon on State Highway Z 4 miles southeast of Thornfield.
